I have been an estate planning/probate lawyer for almost 25 years.  I graduated from law school in San Diego in 1991 and joined a mid-sized law firm in downtown San Diego for 4 years. I then joined my father in his La Jolla law firm for 2 years before I decided to move to Park City, Utah in 1997. After my move to Utah, I continued to practice estate planning law until I relocated to Napa in 2008.  As a Napa Attorney I also get to participate in the wine industry in my spare time which allows me to enjoy the fruits of the vine in this amazing area I call home. I feel truly blessed every day.

Having worked in both a larger and solo law practice I know what type of practice works well for me and for my clients. I am what you would call a new fashioned lawyer who is not interested in presenting a stuffy legal appearance to my clients. You won't catch me in a business suit unless I am going to court. I bring my Welsh Corgi Ashton to work every day (she works for treats which is much cheaper than previous assistants) and we enjoy our mid-day walks to the post office and bank. My office is decorated more like a comfortable living room than an old fashioned conservative lawyer's office. I answer my own phone and at times even hand-deliver documents to my clients' homes. My office really has no official office hours as I will attempt to meet with my clients at a time that is most convenient for them, even if it is in the evenings or the weekends.  I believe in offering these small town style services that will be convenient for my clients and not just for me.

I also enjoy serving as a professional fiduciary on many large administration cases.  I entered into this new area of practice in the last 10 years because I found there is an overwhelming need for highly trained and knowledgeable fiduciaries. Many of my current cases involve Trusts in excess of 10 million dollars wherein I have been appointed by the Court when litigation ensues among family members.  These cases quite frequently include me taking over active businesses including vineyards, rental properties, etc,  Each case presents its own unique situation and that is why I truly enjoy this type of work that draws on my business and legal background.

I look forward to serving as your Napa lawyer and/or professional fiduciary in either Napa or surrounding counties.
